Founded in 1928, «Finanz und Wirtschaft» (FuW) is targeted at experienced private and professional investors who work in or with global financial markets. The largest business editorial team in Switzerland provides insightful background information on the global economy and events on both national and international stock markets daily for digital channels and twice weekly – on Wednesdays and Saturdays – in the newspaper edition. FuW analyses all businesses quoted in Switzerland as well as global companies of significance for investors. In addition to its headquarters in Zurich, the publisher also has dedicated editorial offices in New York and London.

Investment product on the FuW Best of Switzerland portfolio

The analysis of listed Swiss companies is at the heart of «Finanz und Wirtschaft». Since 2018, FuW has published its stock favorites from the Swiss Performance Index four times a year, and since 2023 it has also published its top recommendations from the FuW Swiss 50 Index, which comprises the fifty largest companies on the Swiss stock exchange, on a quarterly basis. This stock selection is bundled in the FuW Best of Switzerland portfolio.

When selecting stocks, the FuW editorial team focuses on those with the best prospects of outperforming the Swiss market as a whole over the next twelve months. Due to the composition of two index components, SPI and FuW Swiss 50, both large and mid caps as well as small caps are represented. The allocation decisions are made by the FuW editorial team based on a combination of fundamental and technical analysis. The Swiss Performance Index serves as a benchmark for returns.

The composition of the portfolio is reviewed quarterly and adjusted in line with the latest recommendations of the FuW editorial team. The composition is decided by a committee of FuW editors-in-chief, managing editors and editors.

Zürcher Kantonalbank is now offering investors the opportunity to add the Swiss stock favorites of «Finanz und Wirtschaft» to their portfolio in a simple, transparent and cost-effective way by purchasing the exchange-traded investment product on the FuW Best of Switzerland portfolio, starting from an investment amount of 25 Fr.
